Hey everyone! It’s Karen Waksman the founder of Retail MBA. Today I want to share some insights, on how you can sell your products to the market. You see I’m always exploring ways to help my Retail MBA students make money and thats what I’m doing with this segment.

My expertise lies in teaching people how to get their products on store shelves and generate revenue from them. As part of that I love introducing them to niche markets. The military market is one niche retail sector that you can explore for selling your products.

Now don’t worry; I’m not talking about firearms or military apparel here. We’re focusing on gift items, food products or any other types of items you may have that could find a home, in outlets. Let me give you an example to illustrate this point.

Army and Air Force Exchange Service

Lets discuss an organization known as AAFES, which stands for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. AAFES is a run organization that provides stores and outlets in various locations. These locations can be anywhere, in the US or even across the world catering not to deployed members but also to their families.

AAFES offers a range of retailers, including bookstores, gas stations, gift stores and department stores. This means that not troops but also military families have access to items they may need in these different locations.

Selling to the Military

Selling products to the industry can be highly lucrative due to their demand for new products across numerous locations. If you manage to tap into this market segment you have potential, for selling your products.Well the thing is, the military has stores, over the country and even internationally. They have a purchasing power, like big retail chains. The goal here is to sell quantities of your product and selling to stores can help achieve that. A good example is AAFES. Theres also an outlet for the Navy. Selling to them is quite similar to selling to chain stores.

The exciting part is that there are opportunities for generating revenue. One such opportunity lies in tapping into the market.
