Outline of Todays' Interview with Yanik Silver, Evolved Enterprise and Karen Waksman!
Karen Waksman, founder of Retail MBA, recently interviewed Yanik Silver, author of the book Evolved Enterprise. In the interview, Yanik discussed his journey from copywriting to internet marketing, his experience with Richard Branson’s Necker Island, and his Mavericks 1000 group. He also shared his insights on how to merge business growth and impact, and how to turbocharge a business by connecting the head, heart, and higher purpose.
Yanik’s Journey
Yanik began his journey in copywriting, working with his father to grow his medical equipment sales and service company. At 14, he was telemarketing, and at 16, he was out on the road cold calling. After learning about direct response marketing from one of his doctors, Yanik started to do well selling his own products online. People asked him to teach them how to do the same, which led to him selling information and content to help others take their own knowledge and sell it.
He then started the Underground, an internet marketing event for many years, and 11 years ago he asked himself if he would be happy doing what he was doing for 10 more years. The answer was no, and this led to him starting Mavericks 1000, a group for high-level entrepreneurs to travel, learn, help, and give back.
Merging Business Growth and Impact
Yanik shared his insights on how to merge business growth and impact. He explained that Richard Branson is a great example of this, as he has always been about making a difference and his companies have always had some element of impact. Yanik believes that when entrepreneurs connect their head with their business side, their marketing mind, and their heart, which is the impact they want to make in the world, things really take off. He also believes that leveraging the internet is a turbo charger for businesses, allowing them to go from small to exploding.
Turbocharging a Business
When asked what triggered him to start merging business growth and impact, Yanik couldn’t pinpoint one spot, but he did point to a few things he saw happening. He mentioned his 30th birthday bash, which was a big event at the time and raised $25,000 for Make-A-Wish. He also mentioned the people he has met, the books he has read, and the experiences he has had, all of which have led to the pieces of the puzzle coming together.
Conclusion
Yanik Silver’s journey from copywriting to internet marketing, and his experience with Richard Branson’s Necker Island, has led him to create Mavericks 1000, a group for high-level entrepreneurs to travel, learn, help, and give back. He has also shared his insights on how to merge business growth and impact, and how to turbocharge a business by connecting the head, heart, and higher purpose.
